A task board that keeps itself current
Keel still has everything you expect from a project tool: projects, tasks, owners, dates, a board, and a list. The difference is that updates come from the work itself, not from someone remembering to drag a card.
- Ideas Referral credits
- To do Receipts email
- Doing Auth service, App integration
- Checking Payments API
- Stuck Mobile release
- Done Pricing screens
What it does
- Projects to subtasksProjects, epics, tasks, and subtasks with owner, status, estimate, start and due dates, team, and labels.
- Board and list viewsGroup by team or status, drag to change status, filter, save views, and bulk edit.
- One source of truthThe board shows the same data as the graph, so the two never disagree.
- MilestonesTarget dates with gating tasks; milestone health comes from those tasks.
- TemplatesStart a launch, sprint, or migration with tasks and dependencies already in place.
- Instant editsCards move the moment you click, show a saving state, and roll back with a message if the save fails.
How it works
Every flow in Keel follows one loop: a signal becomes a risk, a risk becomes a proposal, and only an approval changes the plan.
- Create a project, or start from a template.
- Add tasks with owners and dates.
- Link dependencies between them.
- Work happens in chat, meetings, and code.
- The board updates through proposals you approve.
Tasks and board questions
Does Keel have a kanban board?
Yes. Tasks move across Ideas, To do, Doing, Checking, Stuck, and Done, and you can drag to change status.
Is there a list view?
Yes, with filters, saved views per person, and bulk edit.
Why is the graph the main view instead of the board?
Because dependencies show the impact of a delay. The board stays as a familiar view of the same data.
